If you are thinking to eat lemon to your dog. Then it’s a bad idea. Because, if a dog eats large amount lemons. Dog can be affected by diarrhea, upset stomach, vomiting, weakness, depression, skin irritation, low blood pressure or can happen sudden death.

Is lemon is toxic for dogs?

Not actually. But lemon is totally not safe for dogs. Because lemons are citrus food. The citrus food contains psoralens. Which one is really harmful to dogs. Because of, psoralens can produce GI distress, neurological symptoms, and even liver failure. Skin, seeds, and pith of the lemon contain high amount psoralens. Lemon also can causes irritation to your dog's digestive system.

What to do when a dog eats a lemon?

If dogs eat few piece of lemon. The effect of lemon will be recovered after few hours. But if dog vomiting or you see any uncomfortable behavior. Then your dog needs medical treatment.
But the happy news is, most of the dogs don’t like lemons.
